Nov. 23 & Dec 07
For the past five years, the UC Berkeley Nikkei Student Union has presented its Annual Japanese American Culture Show on the UC Berkeley campus. This year's theme is (r)evolutions. in addition to our Berkeley show at Wheeler Auditorium on December 7th, NSU is proud to present (r)evolutions in Japantown as well!
NSU will be having a condensed performance of (r)evolutions at the Japanese Cultural and Community Center of Northern California in San Francisco on Sunday, Nov. 23rd. Doors will open at 4:30 and the show starts at 5pm. This performance will bring a preview of our full December show to members of the community who have never been to a Culture Show or are otherwise unable to attend. In light of this, admission will be free, although we always welcome donations to help cover our costs. The performance will feature one student-written play, a cultural dance ("soran bushi") and student monologues.

Tule Lake Pilgrimage
Greetings. I would just like to share some important information with
the Berkeley JACL members: registration deadline for Tule Lake
Pilgrimage. This year's Pilgrimage will take place July 3-6, 2008,
and registration closes on May 31, 2008. As fewer and fewer former
internees are around to tell their stories, our urgency increases to
bring participants to this special 4-day event that is structured
around hearing their stories -- and using those stories to inform our
activism today. Many Berkeley chapter members have attended in the
past, and we would be very grateful if you could share this
information with your networks and help make sure no one misses out.
Scholarships are available so money should not be an object for
anyone. General information plus brochures and registration forms are
available for download at www.tulelake.org. We look forward to
seeing you this summer at an amazing journey into the past, present,
and future!!!
Sincerely,
Nina Kahori Fallenbaum
